"....imagination as a valuable tool used correctly is your paintbrush, with which you form your reality."

Seth, Jane Roberts, Nature of Personal Reality, Part One: Chapter 4: Session 622, October 18, 1972

Thank you for visiting my Artmaking Insights page!

As an artist, my journey is ever-evolving, and I wish to share it with you. There is artmaking inspiration everywhere and it inspires a deeper and richer understanding of the experience of creativity. I am regularly updating this space with the discoveries and insights I have made along my Way. Here you will find a collection of quotes (familiar and perhaps new to you) from some of my favorite Masters of Art and esoteric teachers along with my own observations, all illustrated with my original artwork.

TAO TE CHING by Lao Tzu

Translation by R. B. Blakney

1.

There are ways but the Way is uncharted;

There are names but not nature in words:

Nameless indeed is the source of creation

But things have a mother and she has a name.

The secret waits for the insight

Of eyes unclouded by longing;

Those who are bound by desire

See only the outward container.

These two come paired but distinct

By their names.

Of all things profound,

Say that their pairing is deepest,

The gate to the roof of the world.

"Each vision is unique, so there are no real guidebooks, and each artist chooses the ways in which life and art will interrelate, so to speak. The process is natural, and it happens spontaneously when you allow it to."

Seth, Jane Roberts, TPS 5 Deleted Session April 9, 1980

"All material is energy, appearing in the physical field into patterns that have been prepared for it. The illusion of rigidity is the result of your own outer senses, a perception which is too slow to catch the constant pulsations, as bits of energy that compose material constantly disappear entirely and are replaced."

Session 61 June 10, 1964 9 PM Wednesday

"People are propelled to act in highly individual ways: what makes one man go forward can make another go backward. As a general rule the production of any kind of art is a highly private one initially. That art may add to the richness of society, to culture - but art always posesses its own secret inner nature, and with that nature each artist of whatever kind must always relate."
